Building relationships that make the difference

Cooking Classes at Directions

The Occupational Therapy team at Directions has been hosting weekly group cooking classes running every Thursday at 10.30 am. The cooking class involves shopping for the ingredients at Coles at the Maddington Shopping Centre then going to Maddington Community Centre where the cooking takes places. This cooking class is an opportunity for young people to learn and practice essential life skills (shopping, budgeting, planning, problem solving) so that they can become more independent. This cooking class is also the opportunity for them to step out of their comfort zone, practice social skills and form friendships.
