Building relationships that make the difference

A Day with an Occupational Therapist | EJ Leong | Curtin Graduate

“I was honoured to be selected by Curtin University Marketing team to be part of a promotional video to promote the Occupational Therapy course at Curtin University. In April this year, two professional videographer Sam and Zoran from Curtin came out with me on two days to video my one on one sessions and manual handling training with support workers at Cockburn Arc. They had all the fancy tools with them! It was an interesting experience being interviewed and really reflect on what I do in a day! It was both incredibly stressful and fun J I was so self-conscious about what I say, how I sound and what I did! I am 100% confident that I do not have the skills to be an actress! When I saw the video it reminded me of the reasons why I do what I do, I would not trade it with anything else! I would like to say a big thank you to Mat, Eithan, Azizah and their respective families to be a part of the video. Thank you to my therapy team for enduring all the retakes and listening to me over and over again! And most importantly, thank you to Directions for giving me the opportunity to do what I love doing. Here is a very awkward video of me explaining my role and what I do as an Occupational Therapist at Directions. Thank you for watching and please forgive my awkwardness!”
