Building relationships that make the difference

2016 AGM

There was new life injected into the Directions AGM in 2016. The highlights were the show-casing of art works displayed  mainly created by the “people we support” and the highly active presence of these people at the night. Attending the night was the Minister Hon Donna Faragher, our patron MLA Dr Toni Buti and the shadow minister MLC Stephen Dawson. There was in excess of 80 people at the art exhibition opening at the Roleystone hills restaurant, “Genesis in the Hills”

All of those who attended were amazed at the song from Emma Bamford. Emma’s contribution was as outstanding as she was nervous. Her courage to sing solo at such a function has to be admired. The drumming from Nick Edwards was such a delight, that many people didn’t know the AGM was taking place! In addition to these two awesome artists were the wait staff, who are also part of the people we support. The wait staff kept up a consistent supply of food and refreshments for the large crowd.

The highlight of the AGM was the awarding of life membership to Ray.

The whole night typified the approach Directions has towards the people we support, one of positive and seamless inclusion into the community.
